I’ve been a full time REALTOR since 2004. As a 3rd generation REALTOR, I guess you’d say it’s in the genes. My grandfather, father, many aunts, uncles, cousins and even siblings have had the privilege of assisting 1000’s of families and individuals reach their real estate goals. It’s addicting – the challenges, the joy of handing over the keys to a new homeowner and even the bittersweet goodbyes to sellers who are moving on to the next chapter in their lives. I’ve worked with first time buyers, first time sellers, investors, retirees, empty-nesters, builders, single moms & dads and even had the honor to help grieving family members handle their loved one’s estates. This is way more than a job. This career inserts me directly into the lives of magnificent people all over the world. There is nothing like it!
In my view, there are different aspects of my job as REALTOR.
I am the experienced professional. The real estate market and industry is always shifting and changing. I study the local and national markets daily in order to anticipate its direction and get my clients out in front of the changes. The data is important and being able to communicate the data via the latest technology is also essential. Staying ahead of the trends is a crucial aspect of my job.
I am the trusted advisor. Every client is unique. No two clients have the same goals, needs and circumstances. It is my job to ask the right questions, listen intently, determine the goal and create a plan to get them to their destination. Once the destination is decided, I provide different routes we can take. Want to get there in the shortest amount of time? There is a route for that. Want to make the most money? There is a route for that. Inevitably, there will be traffic jams, detours and speed bumps along the way. I navigate thru each challenge safely and get the client to the other side. I am their GPS.
I am a dependable friend. Real estate is a very personal, private and sometimes stressful chapter in one’s life. My clients and I are in constant contact, sometimes for months at a time. All the emotions can flow at any given moment. It’s my job to be solid, steady and unflappable. Walking thru the fire with each other develops relationships not easily broken. I frequently get calls from past clients who’ve moved away from the area but have a real estate question they want to run by me. It’s probably my favorite aspect of the business!
Who am I and what makes me tick? Though I was born in West Virginia, I consider myself an Arizona native because that’s where 95% of my life happened (pre-marriage)! I grew up in and around the Tucson area, more specifically, Tumacacori, very near the Mexico border. I married my knight-in-shining armor – his armor happened to resemble an Air Force uniform, moved to the Netherlands for 5 years, then landed at Shaw AFB and this is where we’ve called home for 30+ years. We have 2 beautiful daughters who were raised here in Sumter. In 2010, we entered one of the best chapters of our lives – grandparenthood! We now have 7 beautiful grandchildren and couldn’t be happier! Russ and I have been members of our wonderful little church, Destiny Praise Center, for 25+ years and serve as deacons.
I love my God. I love my family. I love this city. And I love this business! Combine all of those and I’d say life is good! I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your real estate goals/needs! Let’s do this!
